You don't have to do the ping test as shown in the video, just open the job queue, that page refreshes every 5 seconds or so. Once it changes from downloading to completed status it will restart the idrac at that point.

You can use Rufus to create freeDOS and just upload the bios.exe file to the root of the usb drive.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This worked perfectly for me. I have Dell R710 ESXI 6.0 with BIOS 1.36 and was trying to update to BIOS 6.4. I tried LifeCycle FTP, LifeCycle USB/DVD, I tried Dell Repository Manager, etc. This method only worked for me! Thanks again!

Hello, I have a message when I get to running the bios.exe(minute 8:28 in the video). It says: This program cannot be run in DOS mode. Is there something that I need to change in the BIOS before I do this?
Thank you

Hi, just an generall Info. why you are making this so complicated ?
the idrac Generation 7 and newer can update all firmware via the Web gui-> just simple go to Idrac Settings->update and roll back-> local file and upload the desired EXE (WN64 Package) of the firmware you want to have. you dont need to creat an bootable media and stick etc… its to much effort you are showing.
